2001 Chevy Blazer Recall
NHTSA issued several recalls for 2001 Chevy Blazer. The models manufactured in
May 2000 together with other vehicles have improper heat treatment of the seat
belt's buckle base thus it did not pass the load bearing requirement of federal
motor vehicle safety standard on seat belt assemblies. With this defect, the passengers
including the driver may not be properly restrained.
The solution of this defect is proper inspection of the vehicle's rear safety
belt buckle and replacement of the defective part. Another NHTSA recall done in
December 13, 2001 shows defect in the lighting system. An open circuit condition
may arise from failed function of light switch resulting to defective function
stop lamps and rear hazard lamps. Replacement of hazard switch carrier is the
corrective measure for this defect.
