2001 Chevy Blazer Problem
NHTSA recall did in August 22, 2000 unveiled defects in the seat belt assemblies
of passenger vehicles, light duty trucks, mini vans and sport utility vehicle
including 2001 Chevy Blazers. The buckle base of the car's seat belt assemblies
were not properly installed and thus does not pass the load bearing requirement
of federal motor vehicle safety standard.
In case of car crash events, passengers may not be properly supported to ensure
safety. Remedy for this is inspection of the vehicle's safety belt buckle and
if needed, replacement of the defective part.
The lighting system of this year's model also needs replacement of the hazard
switch carrier as advised by the NHTSA in a recall did in December 13, 2001. Failure
in the function of the hazard switch carrier may result to car accidents.
