2000 Chevy Blazer problem
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows malfunction in the light
switch of certain sport utility vehicle including the 2000 Chevy Blazer models.
The defect in switch could lead to an open circuit condition resulting to failure
in the function of stop lamps and rear hazard lamps. This defect may fail to warn
the driver if the car stops which may result to car collision.
Another recall done in March 16, 2000 shows problem in the car's steering involving
the brake warning indicator. The power steering cooler hose of this device can
separate from the power brake booster fluid flow switch assembly which may result
to the flow of the power steering fluid onto hot engine parts. If this occurs,
fire could destroy the engine compartment. The remedy is for dealers to inspect
the screw clamps of the power steering hose joints and replace it if it is not
the proper screw type. .
