1999 Chevy Blazer Recall
No change was done for 1999 Chevy blazer yet seatbelts need improvements as shown
in the NHTSA recall history. The seatbelts failed to meet locking requirements
which may lack of support to occupants during car crash or collision. Another
defect is failure of the right front- passenger restraint system to meet the neck
extension requirements.
In March 1, 2002, another report done by NHTSA shows a premature wear condition
in the clutch master cylinder pushrod for Chevrolet blazers manufactured between
September 1998 and August 2000. This defect may lead to the bending or even breaking
of the pedal pin. If this occurs, the car could move backwards if the transmission
is in reverse gear or it could forward if the transmission is in a forward gear.
In July 29,1999, 3.5 million vehicles are recalled to have Anti-Brake System problems
that fails to respond which may result to car accidents.
