1998 Chevy Blazer Recall
1998 Chevy Blazer has the newly optional system called Autotrac which allows
the use of 4WD on any surface. NHTSA recall history for this year model includes
a rear brake line that can come in contact with the inner panel of the left front
fender wheelhouse. This could result to hole in the brake line leading to fluid
loss and reduced rear-brake effectiveness.
Another recall also shows missing lower steering pinch bolt resulting in off-center
steering wheel or separation of shaft from the steering gear. On some vehicles,
one or both of the front brake hubs may have an out-of-spec gray iron that can
affect the performance of the vehicle.
